       Many people throw their garbage in the river. This activity began with many people's houses was located around the watershed (DAS). Disposing of garbage in the river is considered as an activity to remove garbage quickly because the garbage will be carried by the river flow. Because of the garbage that dumped carelessly into the river, it could affect the river water overflow when it rains.

       Garbage entering the water can reduce water quality. It can be because garbage contains many things that have a bad impact. Example the majority of garbage which enters the river is not easily decomposed, eventually decays and reduces water quality. Garbage that is bothersome can cause disease.

       Overflowing water due to garbage disposal can cause flooding. It can be cause the gutters and rivers can't drain the water normally. It was clogged with garbage and loverflows. Flooding can disrupt human daily activities. Flooding can cause diseases such as itching and diarrhea.

       Disposing of trash in that place is not difficult. The absence of trash can makes people to choose throw garbage into the river. Garbage thrown in the trash can reduce disease and prevent flooding.

       The existence of benthos is a important things in water quality. It causes benthos can be a biological parameter in water quality by biomonitoring with bioindicator. Biomonitoring with benthos as bioindicator known easy and efficient to find out how the water quality at that time.

       Benthos indicates that the waters are good. Benthos can present that if the distribution of benthos evenly. The sampling location can be representative of water quality. So, sampling location is important to determined first.

       Benthos can indicate the presence of pollutants in waters. The present of pollutants obtaines from material absorbed into the benthos body. Usually analyzed in the laboratory and has several coherent stages of analyze. Analyze usually has a high level of complexity. 

       Biological monitoring using benthos can indicated the water quality is good or bad. It can be valid if the determination of sampling location and laboratory analysis correctly, so the results can be representative to the quality of a waters.

       Benthos is a organisms that live at the bottom of a body of standing or running water. There are three type of Benthos. Benthos occupy is called the benthic organisms, which in the lowest layer of a lake, sea, stream, or river. In aquatic water, Benthos into three type : macrobenthos, mesobenthos and microbenthos

       Macrobenthos is benthic organisms greater than about 1 mm in size. It make macrobenthos is the largest of benthos herd. Macrobenthos comprises the larger, visible to the naked eye. Some examples are polychaete worms, bivalves, echinoderms, sea anemones, corals, sponges, sea squirts, turbellarians and larger crustaceans such as crabs, lobsters and cumaceans.

       Meiobenthos is benthic organisms less than about 1 mm but greater than about 0.1 mm in size. It is a second of benthos size after macrobenthos. Meiobenthos comprises tiny benthic organisms. Some examples of meiobenthos are nematodes, foraminiferans, tardigrades, gastrotriches and smaller crustaceans such as copepods and ostracodes.

       Microbenthos is benthic organisms that are less than about 0.1 mm in size. It is the smallest size of benthos. Microbenthos comprises microscopic benthic organisms. Some examples are bacteria, diatoms, ciliates, amoeba, flagellates.

       Benthos has many kind based on the size and type. All of them have own uniqueness and characteristics.

       Benthos can indicates good and bad water conditions, it’s called biomonitorring. Benthos can be determined of biomonitorring by the stages of sampling and measurement based on biological as main parameters and physical-chemical in secondary parameters of a water body.All parameters interconnected each other.

       First of all, one time water sampling for all measurement parameters. In addition, we must find out the sampling location what can be representative of water quality. The first parameters measured is physical parameters. The water is taken with water sampler, then packaged for physical-chemical analysis. Physical measurement are carried out at the sampling location. Physical parameters measured are temperature, pH, and turbidity.

       After physical parameter measured, biological parameter can measured in sampling location. Biological parameter commonly measured benthos. Benthos is a benthic organisms and can be found in aquatic sediments. Benthos is taken with kick net or ponar dredge, then packaged for type identification. The identification using a book of benthos traits.

       The last of biomonitoring is a chemical parameters. Packaged water that has been taken, in the chemical parameters analysis. Chemical parameters are usually in the laboratory. Chemical parameters measured are Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). In the laboratory, chemical analysis usually has a high level of complexity.

       Biomonitorring with benthos needed some parameters measured. The measurement results in biomonitorring are compared with the regulations to determine the condition water. All parameters measured are continuous each other.
