Declining Water Quality
Degradation of water quality can have several impact. The ones which will be the most affected by the decline are benthos organisms. That happened because benthos are most sensitive organisms from changed of aquatic ecosystem or the water quality they live in. But, there are many possible solution to minimize, such as biomonitoring.
A decrease water quality usually occurs due to pollutants disposal both from industry or domestic, whitout any prior management discharged into the water body. The longer of pollutants will accumulate in waters, so benthos have natural selection cause this vulnerable organisms. The lack of regular biomonitorring also cause decline in water quality.
Water quality degradation can be investigated early with biomonitoring of benthos. Cause sensitive, it can be used as bioindicator of biomonitoring to determine the water quality statua. Furthermore, there is water recovery ordered to restore the water quality.
